The only difference I can really point to is that in the attempted
recreation, I had just launched 2006, but when the bug bit I had had Finale
and the file in question open for a few days. I really don't know much
about this sort of thing, but might this not point toward a temp file
problem like a couple others mentioned?
I'd only been using 2006 (mac) for a week and had a few other oddities
happen (which I couldn't even begin to describe at this point) that I just
shook off at the time, but now wonder if they were related.
and Darcy's description of his work habits lead me to wonder if the
"scary bug!" is a memory size issue. This might be temp files, but
there might be other processes running as well which are do not properly
allocate memory.
