OK. I'm not quite sure just how I would deal with this issue. I've not run into it with my clients in the past. They get a hard copy, (or hardcopy substitute, like ~.pdf) one textblock in which appears in the lower right hand corner of the page, and contains the name of the file from which the score was printed, and the date and time it was created..
I would note that my work protocols are set up for my benefit, and intended to protect myself from my own mistakes; other than vigilence, I'm not sure there's any way to completely protect one's self from the carelessness or negligence of others.
