I certainly recognize that. But even without the hooks into HP, you still get something better than the "little kazoo band" if your samples don't sound like kazoos. And just to point out something I never said to Chuck, I recognize that it wasn't *his* term at all, but something somebody else said that he was quoting. > On the other hand I personally couldn't have cared less about Finale > GPO. I'd benefit from improvements on both fronts. If I could run GPO, I could potentially use Finale 2006 to produce far better MP3s of my piano quartets/quintets. I could get the same results with sound modules that were as good or better than my 1999-era Turtle Beach sound card, and extensive tweaking, but certainly the reduced work that Finale with GPO having HP integration would be a lot less work (once past the initial setup issues). > Here comes a related Finale question: I would actually like to free my > harddisk of Finale GPO (while keeping the full GPO). Can you just try moving files to your trash can, and if Finale breaks, just undelete them? Is the Finale GPO installation optional? If so, you'd think there'd be an independent uninstallation routine. Of course, in your case, I know you have non-Finale GPO, so that could be a major problem right there, since you might lose and have to re-install your full GPO. If you experiment with it, please report back to the list. And of course, a Windows user will also have to repeat your experiments to be sure things don't work differently on the two OS's. -- David W.
