Darcy,

You are correct here...since I am creating modern performing editions from 18th and early 19th Century sacred Latin concerted choral manuscripts, often autograph manuscripts, I need playback to make sure there are no mistakes in the original manuscript or my new modern performing edition. So I will substitute GPO clarinets as previously suggested, and just rename them for my four voice parts, getting rid of the transpositions and adding the appropriate clefs.

I now feel comfortable enough, just having loaded Finale 2006b, to jump right in and begin a new project. You should know that most of my publishers now go to press directly from my Finale files, along with a little tweaking for cosmetic purposes. I have a brand new edition coming out in January from Hinshaw Music Inc., a Credo for TTB chorus, strings and two horns by Padre Martini.

Thanks for all of your collective wisdom over the years. A very happy, healthy and peaceful New Year to all of you on the Finale list. What a great bunch of colleagues with which to be associated!

Martin

Remember, this tangent began because you told Martin to "forget it" when it came to using GPO+Setup Wizard. I understand it's not suitable for your situation, but for anyone who, like me, needs to use GPO to create orchestral demos from Finale scores, GPO+Setup Wizard a huge time-saver vs. loading GPO manually, despite its many shortcomings.
