Ok Johannes, so who do we report this to?

Exactly the same problem here! I am sure it is a bug.

As a clarification, please allow me to record, step by step, the
problem I am having with my newly downloaded FinMac 2006b, with
regards to creating a new file and playback with the Finale loaded
GPO (in the hopes that someone can help me fix this, or at least let
me know that I'm not the only one having this problem):
1. Using the setup wizard in FinMac 2006b, I create a new file with
several instruments using the GPO instruments, and I enter a few test
measures for each instrument using Speedy note entry from my
synthesizer.
2. With the same file still open, I can play back, without any
trouble, using the GPO instruments, my file as many times as I wish
(except for the garbled junk Johannes described when trying to
playback 16th notes).
3. After quitting FinMac 2006b, I reopen Finale and then re-open the
previous file I created earlier. When I open this file, Finale begins
loading the GPO patches, but then suddenly stops and gives me a
message "Unhandled exception caught". When I close that message
window, Finale completely quits on me.
4. If I open that file again in Finale, uncheck the "Play AU
instruments" or whatever the exact wording is, and play through
internal speaker, either using Real Audio or Smart Synth, I am able
to playback my file. But as soon as I re-check the menu item to play
using AU Instruments, I go through the same situation (see #3 above),
and Finale quits on me.
I could be mistaken, but judging from the postings on the list by a
few of you here, perhaps there IS a problem with GPO that makes it
unusable. Up until now, I have stayed with FinMac 2003a for its
stability, and finally took the plunge to upgrade to 2006b so I could
have a decent demo sound file when I submit one of my modern
performing editions to one of my publishers. At least at this point
in time, I don't think I can use 2006b with any sense of security.
Anyone else's thoughts on this???
