That's kind of the point. First you have to look in the manual. An obscure
item, yes, but a relatively obvious one (where this discussion started) --
you shouldn't be there at all. The program should have been eminently
clear. But then you have to figure out how to find it, and that issue isn't
indexed -- not under transposition, not under "original", not under
"preserve".

The Finale manual may seem thorough, but it is an example of how *not* to
index and reference. Instead of using standard terminology, you have to
know what the Finale terms are first. And then you have to hope that
they've indexed what you think you've seen once, because you're sure as
heck not gonna find it otherwise.

But my point, to repeat, is that the program should make these
straightforward features clear without needing help files or manuals. Force
a choice, for example, with a radio button ([move notes to transposed
position] [copy notes to transposed position]) or provide a hover popup as
Tobias does.(transposes notes only and deletes original notes; transposes
notes and also keeps original in place). That's just an improv on it. A
test group would help clarify it.
