I would guess that GPO performance will be *extremely* degraded under
Rosetta, at least until Native Instruments come up with a Universal
version of the Kontakt Player.

I ordered one of those new iMacs immediately yesterday. I think I
will need it real soon now for plug-in development. It might be
possible that
Finale already runs on it, possibly with the exception of playback. I
will report back in about one week, hopefully!
