One last word on this subject. In my experiences, both Canon and Epson support for Mac is not as good as HP.
My ancient HP 5MP is still kicking on both Mac and Win. Epson 850N, which I paid a lot for Ethernet capability, doesn't have Tiger driver, and they don't care. Canon ip3000 Mac problem, we received poor support. When I complained HP not releasing OSX driver for my scanner, they sent me a new model for exchange at no cost.
