I wish the members of my band had trained with you. Do you have a recommended method? When I need to get a section to play a tricky rhythm together, I take them through the passage, below speed, by themselves. If they keep having trouble, I first sing it to them, possibly slow down even further, and if all else fails give them a click of the largest common factor (e.g. in dotted quarters and eighths, the click would be the eighth) and tell them how many clicks go to the larger notes.

Even if I were familiar with French or Kodaly rhythm names I don't think it would be reasonable to expect the whole band to learn them when most of them are doing well enough already.
