that's not exactly what i'm trying to do...
my problem is that straight flags are always on the right side of the stem.
but in situations like this for example
triplet:
_________ 3 ______________
quarter rest - eight note
i want the flag of the eight-note
to be on the left side of the stem.
(so the problem is that a straight flag is NOT a beam, but a flag,
otherwise it would me much more simple i guess...)
so i need a way to change the direction of the flag from (pointing to
the) right
to (pointing to the) left.
any ideas?

I don't know if I correctly understood what you are trying to do, but
