There is no standard for this, so you probably won't find that much
help. Your best bet is to look at scores of a similar kind by a
publisher you like. If you have a library near by, get some scores out
and compare.
I am guessing that you are doing baroque music. Look at some Bärenreiter
scores of Telemann programmatic suites or the like.
I recently did Rebel's "Les Eléments" for Edition Walhall. I obviously
cannot send you the file, but I might be able to send you some excerpts
as PDF. Some of the layout decisions weren't mine, but it's certainly a
good example. To be honest I think this is the best engraving the
publisher has in his catalogue.
(It might take a few days as I am very busy right now.)
