Just was wondering if this looks ok. Here's a screenshot:

Kim,

although I am not a harpsichordist, I can imagine your continuo player to curse at you for the low numbers. I certainly would have difficulties reading this, and still associate the correct numbers with the right notes. Perhaps some continuo players can jump in and correct me if I am wrong.

My solution to this particular dilemma is to place the figures above the staff. The other solution is to put the dynamics above the staff, or, if there are not too many altogether, just move them out of the way of the figures.

An example of how I dealt with this can be found here:

perhaps not always ideal, and I wouldn't use that font for the figures any more, but imo a better solution than having the figures below the dynamics. (I just noticed that there is a "cresc." sitting somewhere in mid space - that's a result of where the figures where before, below the staff, with the dynamics below the figures - before I moved the figures up.)

BTW, there is a misprint in the first measure, the 6th note in the first violin part (including the grace notes) is definitely meant to be a g, not and f#, as it is two measures later.

What is the piece? What font are you using for the figures? Did you make it yourself?
