To anyone who can help:
I have several questions, but first, here's my equipment: Gateway Laptop, Windows XP, Finale 2006c, Roland 64-Channel Processor, a 16-channel piano sound module, & SoftSynth. My compositions are all for piano solo. 1. For dynamics/voicing control, is it possible to assign each staff (generally 2 staves, sometimes 3) to different channels after a piece is completed in Finale? If so (or if it has to be assigned when setting up a project), how is this done? All I can find in the manual is info about assigning staves to channels when importing a MIDI file. 2. Is it possible to assign each layer to different channels for complete dynamics/voicing control? If so, how? If not, how does one make one voice (not staff, necessarily) louder than another when it's all for piano? 3. I have a peculiar problem with one 10-page piece, 4 of which have 3 staves per system, & the remaining systems with 2 staves each. All systems in the piece are locked & optimized--optimized because when I went to 3-stave systems part way through the piece, all the systems turned into 3 staves. The entire piece is set up for optimum page turns. The problem is that when I try to delete any measures on page one, it moves 2 of the 4 staves on page 2 to a new page 3 + pushes 1 or 2 systems to the next page throughout the piece, which, of course, ruins the optimum page turn setup. Further, I can find no way to move the orphaned 2 staves ahead so they can be part of the original 4 staves. What am I doing wrong here? 4. I haven't consulted this site since my last major project two years ago. I still receive the discussion list, but cannot access the archives, probably because I've forgotten my original password. How can I straighten this out, since I'm apparently still a member? I hope to hear from someone as soon as possible at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sincerely, Patricia Spedden _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
