NOT recommended. This is not the problem here -- "Automatic Update Layout" does not (by default) *change* the layout, it only ensures there are no nasty surprises when it comes time to print the part.
What Patricia wants is to LOCK the layout, which is easily done, and is perfectly compatible with "Automatic Update Layout."
