Perhaps this is a Mac vs. PC communication problem.

Video cards make a *huge* difference in performance on a PC, 
especially one running WinXP's ugly Luna interface (the Windows 
Classic UI is far less video intensive). However, *how* much 
difference they make is going to have a ceiling. After you reach a 
certain level in high-end graphics cards, you're not going to see 
much additional increase in performance of typical PC tasks.

But hard drive speed and graphics card are more important that CPU 
speed in making a PC running Windows feel snappy.
