Yes and no.
If you find it necessary to make a copy of the score for extracting
parts, there is one immediate advantage over Fin06: wrong notes need
only be corrected in two places (both score copies), not three (both
score copies and the extracted part). In addition, as a few of us have
pointed out, there are benefits to being able to use the score copy to
make global changes to parts in one step.
And for some projects, you may find that you can in fact do absolutely
everything with just one copy of the score. I would say that it depends
on the project and on the engraver.
I would point out also that if there is one small section of parts, such
as Robert Patterson's (I think it was his) example of oboe parts, where
some of the time they are on two different staves and other times they
are are on a single staff, the linked score/parts feature would work
fantastically on all the other parts, and you could extract just the
oboe parts for further work in the old way before printing.
So it will be quite possible to get most of the benefits with a little
bit of extra work, compared to the older method of having to extract ALL
the parts.
But for all the projects where the score and the parts are identical,
the linked score/parts should be a wonderful time saver. Of course, I
say that without having the program on my computer, but hoping that if
this feature is as reported in the promo materials and in Jari's review,
what I say should hold true.
