Just pretend it's not there. And if you create new scores with the Setup Wizard, be sure to unckeck the box that says 'Generate Linked Parts'.

Although there's really no way to avoid it entirely. When you extract parts to separate files, just like you used to in older versions, what Fin07 does is generate linked parts in the background and then save the part out to a file. If you work in this way, you shouldn't see any of the problems people have been discussing with linked parts, since they apply only to the relationship between edits in the score and the linked parts -- and you won't be editing the linked parts at all, just the extracted parts. The fact that the linked parts *exist* there in the score shouldn't affect you at all.

But frankly, even if you prefer not to work with linked parts, I think you'll find that there is some use to them. You can, for example, still generate linked parts and use them to make certain edits that you want to affect all parts -- and then extract the parts to separate files and continue as usual. Any edits you make to linked parts before extracting will be preserved in the extracted file.

Aaron.
