Hello all,
MM Mac support responded this AM with information that identifies
the source of the problems I was having for the last few days. It
seems that Bill Duncan's ChordSym font, which I use for alternate
notation (and therefor shows up in many staff styles) does not "read"
and prevents Finale 2007 from recognizing the applied staff style.
The parts, extracted or linked, don't show these styles until they
are re-applied in the individual parts. This is a pain in the neck
for me, but perhaps MM (or Bill) will make the necessary adjustments
that will allow this elegant font to work correctly in 2007. This
does not answer the erratic MM rest behavior, but that is more easily
dealt with, in any case.
I have started work on another file that does not contain these
fonts, and everything is working as it is supposed to, so far.
