But if it is JUST the slash symbol that is causing the problem, can't
you substitute it for the Maestro one and still keep your chord symbols????
Amazing that this would be a problem.........

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Is it the slash symbol that is

Apparently - this was the culprit, and MM says that they can cure it
by going through the Generate Parts dialog. Since I was using their
template that already had the parts generated, I had no reason to go
through that process. I used the template in order to use as much of
MM's prepared material as possible, thinking that that would be likely
to help me avoid problems that I'd create by lack of familiarity with
the new way of doing things. I will try this later with an older
score - created in 2k7 beta, and see if the Generate Parts operation
circumvents the problem.
I'd hate to abandon the ChordSym font. I really love it.
I like it so much that I'll stick with 2006, if we can't figure out
how to make it work in 2007. But we may be a little hasty - let me
try this later and I'll report back about the results.
But wouldn't this problem be an all kinds of other alternate fonts as
well? What if one was using November, or Swing, or one of the other
fonts out there? MakeMusic needs to address this bug ASAP.
As far as I can see, this is largely a Staff Styles issue - directly
related to 2007 not recognizing the ChordSym font. Maybe this is only
true when the parts have already been generated before the Staff Style
is applied to the score. If this is the case - it's pretty simple to
work around it. I'll let you know as I learn more.
