I want to write a violin triple-stop that ends the D and A strings, and
ends on a held note on the E string. I have seen this notated as a
whole note on the top note, connected by a vertical stem to quarter
notes for the lower two notes.

How do I do this on MacFin2006?

If I am picturing this properly:

Using Speedy Entry:
Use voices:
1) enter the whole note first
2) hit the ' key (the appostrophe key) to enter voice 2 and enter the first quarter note 3) move the cursor back onto that quarter note and down (or up) to the location of the second quarter note and hit "enter" to add a second note to a chord.
4) hit the L key to reverse the stem direction
5) use the cursor to move the quarter notes a bit to the right for a better stem connection with the whole note.
