One friend
was trying to use Subito's service for printing, made pdfs of his orchestral
scores. They came back without instrument names, and with all 3-slash
tremolos missing the middle slash.
You're probably aware of this but MM's Maestro fonts of the last
couple of releases (FinMac2k6 and FinMac2k7) have faulty overlaid
glyphs in the upper slash of the double and the middle slash of the
triple slash trem that produce an outline on printout. See MakeMusic
forum post of 8/22/2006:

For all of
you who are still experiencing printing problems with the double and
triple tremolo slashes, if you open up the font in Fontographer or
TypeTool and examine the two characters, you will discover that the
problem is a duplicate slash directly on top of the middle slash for
the 3 slash tremolo and the top slash of the double one. Delete these
and the characters will print correctly. I reported this nearly two
years ago on this forum. I can't believe that this one minute fix has
not been corrected yet.

Don't know for certain whether this applies only to Mac or both.
I've had to fix my Mac font.
