Title: Re: [Finale] Font issues with converted files
A bit lo-tech I know, but when I have font problems like this, I look at the Finale file and scale the missing font, say, ten- or twenty-fold, and look through the document to identify where it is used. Then I can switch it for a similar-looking font which I do have installed. Sometimes I find the use of a problem font may not show up at all (e.g. If it’s only used for a space in a text block), other times it can become more critical. But basically, you need to identify it and swap it out.

Hi All,

I am creating EPS files and am getting font error messages.  The message says:

The following fonts are used in this document but are not currently available. They will be replaced by system fonts.
    Big Caslon and Palatino

The files I am converting have quite a history.  They were originally sent to me form a MAC user as .DAT files.  I opened them in Finale Win06 and copied the contents into my template.  It is these files I am now converting to EPS files and getting the font error messages.

I am not familiar with these 2 fonts.  Are they merely text fonts?  I am not clear what fonts Finale uses as a substitute.  The person I am sending these to is a my publishers printer who is a MAC user.  Will he have any problems with fonts when he opens these files?  This is my main concern.

I would be very grateful to anyone who can give me so insight into this.
