Dennis,

I agree. I must adjust these by hand every time. There is a checkbox in the slur options that says "Make Horizontal Over System Break" that does absolutely nothing that I have ever been able to see. I raise the trailing end of the exiting slur and the leading edge of the entering one, sometimes making other adjustments in the curve too, in order to get these looking right. I have yet to find settings that improve this situation and find it a large PITA.

Anyone who has a better solution is invited to contribute.

Thanks,

chuck

I find Finale's slurs over system breaks very ungainly when they start on the last note of the first system. I change them all by hand, of course, but am wondering if there is any setting to improve Finale's handling of them.

And then, I don't seem to find much in the reference books on these slurs. Where should the first bit end? Before the final barline of the first system? On it? After it?

Thanks!

Dennis
