On the other hand it is exactly what most editions I have seen, use. If you look at Doblinger, for instance, dotted slurs are always lines with equal thickness. (And Doblinger have been using this long before they used computers.)

I would not want dashed slurs which have the shape of a real slur in my editions. YMMV.
