One on-line possibility might be to set up an arrangement with a friend
or colleague where you upload your files to his system and he uploads
his to yours. That way your data is off-site but with someone to whose
system you probably have physical access if necessary. I think this
would be fairly easy to automate on a Mac.

Removable hard disks are my preference, though. I have a set of three
that I rotate and one is always at my mother-in-law's house.
