I would put the LH part in the lower staff. RH part in upper staff, then cross staff the notes as needed. (Place hidden rests to space the notes out to their correct metric locatons.)

Do all this without worrying about the beams over the barlines. (Leave the beams over barlines as the last thing you do.)

When you have everthing set the way you want it, including the page layout, then worry about the beams over the barlines. Find the Patterson Plugins Lite->Beam Over Barlines/Create option. Select the barline(s) where you want beams over the barlines and run this plugin. It should create the beams you want. You may have to edit the beam angles to taste.
