I hope you read my reply to Hiro. He doesn't need to do this! Just
Reset Staff Styles to Score will solve his problem, and creating new
parts won't necessarily help him, as the new parts might have the
same issues!

Document | Manage Parts. Select the part you want to delete, then
Delete Part.

No, that's slightly backwards. First hit New Part, producing an
empty Part 19 or whatever, and *then* select Guitar and do Add to
Part (making sure that Part 19 is still selected in the Linked
Parts list. Then OK when you're done.
As long as you don't hit the Generate Parts button, you will not
destroy your existing parts. Generate Parts (which is a terribly
named button) will delete all of your existing parts and regenerate
a complete set of default parts.
