Yes, that's exactly the right solution. I suppose I panicked when I saw this. I got the first 14 pages of the score to finish ASAP, and the last 14 a week or so later (whatever day this is now!). This new arrangement of parts begins in the middle of page 23. Because the score is so intense in terms of spacing, I didn't dare touch a thing on the pages already completed. But now that I try your suggestion on a scrap copy of the score, I see that the already-optimized staves are not the least bit troubled when I add more staves in scroll view and respace them there. Doggone. (Yes, I've gotten to page 26 since I posted -- ASAP is still required).
