The simplest solution IMO, if the sixteenth note triplet is notated in proper rhythm in the measure right before the downbeat, is to add a pedal down marking at the start of the triplet that ends after the downbeat note (or wherever you want the sound to end). It wouldn't hurt to add a slur from the first of the triplet to the downbeat. Together these markings should be sufficient.

(The same could be done even if the triplet were grace notes. The point is that a pedal marking means these notes are to be sustained without you having to write them out in proper rhythmic notation using ties, etc.)
