leading me to share my anecdote. I went into my local computer vendor
for a USB numeric keypad to use with my laptop to facilitate entry, but
saw instead a flexible keyboard which also plugs into the USB port, for
only a little more money. I bought the flexible keyboard instead, and I
can use the numeric keypad on that, even with ALT+ characters.
