No, but I can't - have to follow the original!

I know what he's saying; I had to do this once to solve a spacing problem.

Add the extra note in to force the notehead to the wanted position BEFORE you shift staves. Then you shift staves, and then delete the extra note. The B should stay put now.

If it doesn't then use the Notehead tool to change the extra note to an invisible character.
