It's also worth noting that this solution can confuse Human Playback, especially when it comes to keyswitches. Depending on your needs, you may find it is worth your while to mute the display+printing staves in favor of hidden playback-only staves.

Only if they are in separate layers. Click on the drop down arrow to the left of the staff name in the instrument list. The staff line expands to
show the different layers.
