Garrtian instruments can be combined with the SoftSynth sounds, and
(in Fin2009) with any other AU/VST sounds.
I tried that suggestion. It worked, but only to a point. The Softsync
has distinctly more latency than the Garritan sounds. That is to say,
if I have the bass trombone on Softsync and the other 3 trombones on
Garritan, the bass trombone is a little behind.
OK, all you wise-crackers, I know what you are thinking. "A bass
trombone behind the beat -- nothing unusual about that."
But in one particular chart, the effect is not acceptable at all, It
makes it sound like the other players are jumping their notes. I don't
see anywhere that this latency is adjustable in Softsync.
