I've enough Finale facility that I don't need to use the documentation
very often. But one thing that I would suggest would be an invaluable
aid is to incorporate an expanded version of "The Visual Index", now
found in the Quick Reference Guide, into the full user documentation. In
a majoirty of those occasions where I do need to reference the on-line
manual, I have to reference TVI first to find out what Finale calls the
notational device I'm wanting more information about.
I'd also propose that the entire Quick Reference Index should be made a
part of the documentation, and taking a moment to address previous
versions, I would suggest that the Quick Reference Guides for prior
editions should be available from the download site. I've had the
experience several times of making the suggestion that a user requesting
assistance refer to the QRG and receiving the response that the
enquiring user doesn't know where it is.
I would also add my name to the list of those who don't like the
hard-coding of M$ IE as the browser to open the documentation.
