Although I haven't used VB5, I have used other context-sensitive help apps (such as Borland's developer tools) which have been superior to anything in Finale. For example: if you select an expression in Finale's Selection Tool and then press F1, you still get help on Selection Tool, instead of what you can do with expression assignment.
Also, in MS Office, I use the Office assistant almost 100% of the time to get help. The main benefit is that I don't have to understand at all how the help system is structured, I just ask a vague question on what I need to know and the answer almost always is among the top 3 hits.
Another issue to me is that pressing F1 multiple times results in multiple help windows, and since the title of all help windows are "Finale 2009 Help", multiple windows are nothing but helpful. Is there an option to open all help in one single window? If not, please add that.
