Your Wisdom Please ... I'm looking for a vade mecum informing proper notation techniques of percussion instruments. I'm mostly interested in pretty standard concert band issues. Does the "Guide to Standardized Drumset Notation" by Weinberg address enough of these issues, or does it stick only to "Drumset" iinfo? I.e., if I should want to know about, say, Marimba notation, will his book satisfy my needs?

I'm not familiar with the book, but you have to realize that a drum set is a single instrument played by a single player, and is NOT a comprehensive look at any and all percussion toys. For that I would certainly recommend Samuel Z Solomon, "How to Write for Percussion: A comprehensive guide to percussion composition," copyright 2002 by Samuel Z Solomon, www.howto.szsolomon.com, ISBN 0-9744721-0-7. I have found it extremely helpful, most recently when wanting to write for dumbek. I'm sure the section on keyboard percussion is quite extensive.
