Among these NPR programs, is one about an Abelton plugin called "Sufi Plug-in". The program is listed as "Translation Software For Music Makers". It's just a plugin to change defaults in Abelton to quarter tone tunings and tempo settings other than 4/4. We can do those things in Finale, but the concept got me thinking about the inherent western bias in Finale and Sibelius. Perhaps locating the development center in eastern Europe, is a step toward "globalizing" MM products and increase the size of it's market. Does anyone know if notation is significantly different in other cultures?
