Among these NPR programs, is one about an Abelton plugin called "Sufi Plug-in". 
 The program is listed as "Translation Software For Music Makers".

It's just a plugin to change defaults in Abelton to quarter tone tunings and 
tempo settings other than 4/4.  We can do those things in Finale, but the 
concept got me thinking about the inherent western bias in Finale and Sibelius. 
 Perhaps locating the development center in eastern Europe, is a step toward 
"globalizing" MM products and increase the size of it's market.  

Does anyone know if notation is significantly different in other cultures?
