>Yes, getting proper spacing using this method is very finicky. set a negative value (try -24 EVPUs to start) to the start of the measures that really are not the first beat in your real meter. i use this method for controlling sections of proportional notation, with / without actual rhythmic patterns / durations.
make sure to set the measures to break MM rests if there are parts involved and also set select measures to not be included in the measure numbering. WARNING!!!!!!!!! there is a bug you will likely encounter if you have multiple measure regions and are setting some measures to not be included in the measure numbering. when adjusting a region of measures (for width or barlines) an area elsewhere in the document will be affected, you will lose all spacing and measure widths there. this can happen in the score when working in the parts as well. (the techies have it on record) HOWEVER!!!! you can avoid this by having the measure numbers show the "real" numbers, not the regions' numbering (e.g. 1:46, 1:47, 1:48, 2:1, 2:2). which is a pain to navigate if you restart numbering in each section / movement, because the 1st measure in the 2nd region in my example would show as 49. _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
