Craig, My experience with Finale is that you can skip a year or two of upgrades without losing very much. Every once in a while, there is a feature that everyone talks about that becomes a "must have", but not very often. I did wait from '07 to '12 for my latest update and don't feel that I've missed very much other than a little bit of a 'learning curve' with the new version. But that seems to happen anyway.
