Craig, If I remember correctly, this was the way the Slash Notation staff style was made. We would have had to edit it anyway.
In the Staff Tool, right-click the blue bar that shows when you have the staff style applied. Select Edit Staff Style... On the right about half-way down, the Alternate Notation box is checked. Click the Settings box next to Alternate Notation. Under Apply to... Layer 1, there are items checked. Uncheck Articulations. While you're at it, check Other Layers... notes, articulations and expressions, so that cues you add in other layers will appear.
