Oh, I forgot one important advantage to linked parts! With JW Copy Part Layout plugin, you can copy aspects of the layout between parts that are similar! Even if the two parts are far from identical, I find it to be an admirable start that saves me mucho time. If I have to create an indented Coda system, it will copy that, too. It's interesting to me that jef generates his parts. Generally with the Setup Wizard and the Score Manager, the parts are created for you as you go, so the only reason to generate is if the layout needs to be different than the default settings, or if you open an old (pre linked-parts) score. But jef is a total Finale wizard, so I bow to his advanced knowledge of the Force.
