I wouldn't chalk it up to senility -- rather it's just part of being a modern computer user. With so many possible things to consider when using any piece of modern software, it's very easy to forget things about all the different possibilities for each piece of software. I don't think it's unreasonable to submit a feature request to the effect of "when opening a file which was saved with fewer than all voices showing, ask the user whether to show the voices as saved or to show all voices." Or make it one of the user-selectable options in the Open dialog of the Preferences -- there's already an option there (at least on the Windows version) for showing (or not) hidden notes along with an option to "ask when converting." There's space in that dialog to offer the same option for showing current layer only or showing all layers or asking the user each time. But senility definitely doesn't enter into it -- I encounter computer users of all ages and levels of mental competence who forget about such things. Especially me. And if you're going to accuse me of being senile, I shall have to ask you to step outside. If I can remember where the door is. ;-) -- David H.
