No clue. I'd first see if the Mac mini will run 10.12 first as there was a big hardware cutoff for this version of the operating system.
The second thing would be to ask why you need to run 10.12. What feature is compelling you to upgrade? I can't see any that stand out and I have two macs that are not "officially" supported by 10.12 so..... Maybe when the new Apple file system comes on line I will move to 10.12, but I don't see that happening until next summer at the earliest.
