Make sure you're not saving Midi volume data with your controller. Try this: Go into the Midi tool (not the Midi/Audio menu). Dismiss the human playback message that comes up. >From the Midi Tool menu, select "Edit Key Velocities". Select the entire document (CTL-A on Windows). >From the Midi Tool menu, choose "Clear". Now try playback. If it works, you may have old Midi data in there, or you may have recorded the velocities from your Midi keyboard.
