I have no difficulty at all copying and pasting both directions. But, I do have a two-button mouse with a scroll wheel, and the scroll wheel is clickable.
In XDarwin Preferences I enable emulation. In the mouse's driver, I set the right button and the scroll wheel's click to the same keystrokes as are specified in XDarwin's emulation. This setup works just fine. In addition, the scroll wheel will scroll my xterms (though I don't use that much). It does not interfere with ordinary right-clicking (control-clicking) within Aqua. No need to mess with xcutsel or xclipboard. My WM is Afterstep, but I believe it doesn't matter what the WM is, since the work is done by XDarwin and the mouse's driver. It is true that the two X buffers aren't merged; when I try to paste into emacs, ctrl-y doesn't work. But the middle button does, so that's not really a problem. Finally, I have a Kensington mouse, and downloaded the driver from their website. There are at least three different Kensington models available with two buttons and a scroll wheel. >Greetings, > >Are other people having problems with pasting under X? >I'm working in rootless mode & using the blackbox-rootless window manager. >I've been starting X from within Aqua. > >I'm able to make the various mouse-button modifiers work for button three, >but not for button 2.
