I have the default Xfree86 4.1 set-up and OroborOSX (0.75a4r2) (none of 
them via fink). I can copy and paste from Emacs (X) into Aqua, but I 
usually cannot go the other way consistently. On the other hand pasting 
from Aqua into xterm has been rather consistent.
