In trying to get sound working in xmms I sudo rm -rf /tmp /.esd and
tried to restart esd as per the archives advice. Now I cannot startx
and receive the message:
Fatal server error:
Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tX0-lock
OsVendorFatalError
AbortDDX
Quitting XDarwin...
giving up.
xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X
server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
I am running the current update of fink with Gnome and enlightenment as
the window manager on a 400 dvd iMac. with osx.1.4 installed..
Help would be appreciated.
