Hi. After four months, I finally took the plunge and installed Fink and Fink Commander last night. WOW! That about sums it up. My only gripe has been the 47MB download for XFree over a dial-up connection. I used the instructions in Fun With Fink. This will be an instant classic when published! Many thanks to the author. I had read that XFree isn't accelerated under OS X, but everything seems quite snappy on my dual-USB iBook (600MHz, 256MB RAM, 8MB VRAM).
Question: where does the .deb file go after having been downloaded (via apt-get) and installed? Is is deleted or archived on my disk somewhere?
