Actually, what probably happened is that it got built but not installed
at some point.

With apt-get, but there's a catch:  the binary distribution for 10.2
isn't out yet, so if you have 10.2, then you'll want to use "fink
install".  Some 10.1 binaries do work, but many (like XFree86) do not.
