This is what I get:

/sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:/
usr/X11R6/bin

There's an extra space between / and usr/X11R6 .... no wonder it doesn't work.
